Lance Bass of `N Sync - Gay

NEW YORK - Lance Bass, band member of 'N Sync, says he's gay and in a "very stable" relationship with a reality show star. Bass, who formed 'N Sync with Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick, tells People magazine that he didn't earlier disclose his sexuality because he didn't want to affect the group's popularity.

"I knew that I was in this popular band and I had four other guys' careers in my hand, and I knew that if I ever acted on it or even said (that I was gay), it would overpower everything," he tells the magazine. From Yahoo! News

TV3 Granted Exclusive Rights To Broadcast Siti Nurhaliza's Wedding

PETALING JAYA, July 24 (Bernama) -- Malaysia's number one private television station, TV3 has been granted the exclusive rights to broadcast the wedding of Malaysia's number one performer Siti Nurhaliza and businessman Datuk Khalid Mohamad Jiwa, also known as Datuk K, on Aug 21.

According to a statement from TV3, apart from the 'akad nikah' ceremony on Aug 21 at the Federal Territory Kuala Lumpur Mosque, the TV station will also broadcast the 'bersanding' ceremonies at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre on Aug 28 and in her hometown of Kuala Lipis, Pahang on Sept 3. The couple married at an estate in Montecito on Saturday but when it came to the ‘first dance’ they were a bit flummoxed: “We were on the dance floor hugging and stuff. We never really danced before,” Avril told ET Canada.

According to reports, Umberto Brindani, who took the controversial decision to publish the photograph of Princess Diana as she lay dying, may face jail over his decision to 'publish and be damned.'It's claimed the Editor, who has hit back at the outrage over the publication of the picture, has been warned by Italy's powerful Autorita Garante Per La Privacy watchdog that he may be prosecuted under laws instigated in 1948 for invasion of privacy. The law relates especially to images which are deemed highly personal and sensitive.

Pink Floyd Founder Syd Barrett Dies of Diabetes

July 11 (Bloomberg) -- Roger Keith ``Syd'' Barrett, a founding member of Pink Floyd whose psychedelic visions paved the way for the British rock band's early success, has died. He was 60.
Barrett died on July 7 at his home in Cambridge, England, from symptoms related to diabetes, Doug Wright, a spokesman for the band, said in a telephone interview.
Barrett's contribution to Pink Floyd as a singer, songwriter and guitarist lasted just three years before drug-induced mental illness forced him into a life as a recluse. His work on Pink Floyd's debut album in 1967, ``The Piper at the Gates of Dawn,'' triggered a cult following that endured for more than three decades after he left the band a year later.

Poor Barbaro

Barbaro (born April 29, 2003) is an American thoroughbred racehorse, who won decisively the 2006 Kentucky Derby and was a heavy favorite in the Preakness Stakes. On May 20, 2006, he suffered an injury shortly after the start of the race, as he fractured three bones in and around the ankle of his right hind leg. The next day, he underwent surgery at the New Bolton Center at the University of Pennsylvania for his leg injuries. After initially favorable reports regarding his recovery, in early July complications began to develop. As of July 13, 2006, Barbaro's prognosis was serious but stable. This injury ruined his shot at the Triple Crown and has ended his racing career.
